Are you curious about art based coaching? Are you a coach looking to incorporate your own artistic practice into your coaching? Are you an art therapist who coaches and would like to know more about art and coaching? Are you looking for something new and creative for your coaching practice? Perhaps you are interested in the workshops and development programme and would like to find out more before committing? Then this introductory online experiential event could be just for you.
Art in coaching is imagery made visible and tangible through using line, form, shape and colour whether it is drawing, painting, sculpture or collage. It isn’t about creating great masterpieces, it is about personal expression and we can all do that.
In this 90 minute online experiential session I will introduce you to the power of art based coaching and how it deepens and enriches our coaching conversations; enabling clients to access a deeper level of awareness, personal meaning and understanding. Coaching with art unlocks the hidden and that which is just outside of awareness giving new insights that lead to shifts in perception and ultimately change.
I will share my experiences of coaching with art and how it creates transformational conversations; inviting you to experience it for yourself through practical exercises, and bringing it to life through art-based coaching case studies. The session also introduces you to my coaching with art framework as laid out in my book Coaching Beyond Words – Using Art to Deepen and Enrich Our Conversations, 2019 Routledge.
By the end of the session you will know if art based coaching is for you and what you can do to develop your coaching in this area.
After the workshop you will receive a pdf summary of key content from the workshop.
Art and coaching through the pandemic
Right now Art Based Coaching is a really important approach as our clients grapple with making sense of what has happened since lock down, where they are now and what’s next for them – art gives our clients a language for the intangible, enabling them connect to their feelings and experiences, articulate opportunities and new insights, and imagine their next normal.
Fees and booking your place
If you would like to book your online place please complete the booking form below. Once you have booked you will the receive your invoice and how to pay. The fee for the 90 minute workshop is £45 including VAT at 20%.
On payment your place will be secured and you will be sent your joining information including the Zoom link for the workshop where you will asked to register.
A note about materials: The workshop is an experiential event and it is important that you have available a selection of materials for the exercises where you will create your own images. These should be a selection of mark making tools such as children’s wax crayons, colouring pencils, pastels (chalks) and anything else you have in the house, plus paper of different sizes. For example, A5 (A4 cut in half), A4 (printer paper) and bigger if you have it such as A3 or A2. Don’t worry if you don’t have a lot of different materials or paper sizes, just a couple to give you some choice will be okay.
Looking forward to seeing you there.
